CE-marking

With a view to contributing to the maintenance and improvement of the quality in the construction sector, BE-CERT has developed the important activity of third party certification of building materials.

In its role as a certification body, BE-CERT applies the CE-marking in the framework of the CPR (Construction Products Regulation) : this marking is required for the commercialisation of, among others, building materials on the single market.

Under the "documents" tab, you will find information about the certification regulations as well as the list of the certified producers and/or products...

working of our certification activity

It relies on a quality system that conforms to the standard EN ISO_IEC 17065. BE-CERT is authorised by BELAC as a certification body for products, and has been recognised by the European Commission in relation to CE-attestation.

Our certification activities are led by executive committees representing all concerned parties (producers, users, public authorities and experts). The goal? To follow certification schemes that perfectly respond to market needs!

CE-attestation

CE-marking which certifies 'European Conformity (or 'conformité européenne' in French), is mandatory. It indicates that a product meets certain technical norms and other requirements set by applicable European regulations. CE-marking allows a product to be freely circulated across the territories of the European Union. Since 1 April 2001, it has been obligatory for any product put on the market. Before a product is permitted to feature the mark, an organisation authorised to award CE marking needs to perform checks and tests to ensure the product fully conforms to the requirements.
